I f&ck my xbox up.. I havent flashed it for 6 months and I just did with 5031. I did some searches on the forumns but not to clear what to do. Will here goes: I didnt relize 5031 was taking up both my banks on 2.3 lite +. Then I used x2ool and configured my flubber and didnt reliaze that I had boot from DVD off. I also changed my avalaunche.xbe to a different name because I used evox to flash my bios. Well I never changed avalaunche back to the correct name and deletd evox. So I get the 13 error because it can not find no dashboard.. I cant boot up a CDRW and cant get to a dashboard. I can go to MS dash thats about it.. I know its my f#*k up for not doing more research before I flashed. Im not really clear on my options right now.. I can buy a programmer and fix this? I can soft mod? (Is this hard?) My hard drive is locked so I will not be able to put a friends drive in my xbox to get to a dashboard? Whats my easiest and quickest solution? Thanks for your time.

I've never done any soft modding, I understand it's a possibility but I can't get you started. Forums in xbox-scene probably have more on this. Otherwise, it looks like it will be time for a programmer unless you've got a friend that is willing to put their system on the line and try a hot swap.

just boot a slayers dvd-r
I have 5031 bios.. I didnt have dvd drive turned on in the x2ool when I sent the ini to my xbox. Can I take my locked hard drive out and hook it up to my computer and unlock it and fix my dashboard file? If not, anybody have any successful soft mod links? Hotswapping sounds pretty riskey to me from what I read.
Thanks

I know my hard drives lock code. So if I get a program for the PC, can I unlock my hard drive using the PC and go into the hard drive and rename my dashboard file?

YES. Thank god you kept your hdd lock password (you have the eeprom as well yes?)

Anyway. get hold of xboxhdm (usual places) and then make a bootable cd of it on your pc. put all the dashboard files you want to add/change on the cd, and make sure you put the eeprom file (if you have it) on the cd. its ok if not, you just have to type the whole hd password in instead. You can then boot your pc with your xbox hd connected and fix it.

Not as simple as FTPing the dash back over then?
That's what I'd try... boot to M$ dash and FTP into your box. You can change your .ini to point to whatever dash you have or change your dash to reflect the .ini
