Dear President Bush:

So today is what you call "the moment of truth," the day that "France and the rest of world have to show their cards on the table." I'm glad to hear that this day has finally arrived. Because, I gotta tell ya, having survived 440 days of your lying and conniving, I wasn't sure if I could take much more. So I'm glad to hear that today is Truth Day, 'cause I got a few truths I would like to share with you:

1. There is virtually NO ONE in America (talk radio nutters and Fox News aside) who is gung-ho to go to war. Trust me on this one. Walk out of the White House and on to any street in America and try to find five people who are PASSIONATE about wanting to kill Iraqis. YOU WON'T FIND THEM! Why? 'Cause NO Iraqis have ever come here and killed any of us! No Iraqi has even threatened to do that. You see, this is how we average Americans think: If a certain so-and-so is not perceived as a threat to our lives, then, believe it or not, we don't want to kill him! Funny how that works!

2. The majority of Americans - the ones who never elected you - are not fooled by your weapons of mass distraction. We know what the real issues are that affect our daily lives - and none of them begin with I or end in Q. Here's what threatens us: two and a half million jobs lost since you took office, the stock market having become a cruel joke, no one knowing if their retirement funds are going to be there, gas now costs almost two dollars - the list goes on and on. Bombing Iraq will not make any of this go away. Only you need to go away for things to improve.

3. As Bill Maher said last week, how bad do you have to suck to lose a popularity contest with Saddam Hussein? The whole world is against you, Mr. Bush. Count your fellow Americans among them.

4. The Pope has said this war is wrong, that it is a SIN. The Pope! But even worse, the Dixie Chicks have now come out against you! How bad does it have to get before you realize that you are an army of one on this war? Of course, this is a war you personally won't have to fight. Just like when you went AWOL while the poor were shipped to Vietnam in your place.

5. Of the 535 members of Congress, only ONE (Sen. Johnson of South Dakota) has an enlisted son or daughter in the armed forces! If you really want to stand up for America, please send your twin daughters over to Kuwait right now and let them don their chemical warfare suits.
And let's see every member of Congress with a child of military age also sacrifice their kids for this war effort. What's that you say? You don't THINK so? Well, hey, guess what - we don't think so either!

6. Finally, we love France. Yes, they have pulled some royal screw-ups. Yes, some of them can pretty damn annoying. But have you forgotten we wouldn't even have this country known as America if it weren't for the French? That it was their help in the Revolutionary War that won it for us? That our greatest thinkers and founding fathers - Thomas Jefferson, Ben Franklin, etc. - spent many years in Paris where they refined the concepts that lead to our Declaration of Independence and our Constitution? That it was France who gave us our Statue of Liberty, a Frenchman who built the Chevrolet, and a pair of French brothers who invented the movies? And now they are doing what only a good friend can do - tell you the truth about yourself, straight, no b.s. Quit pissing on the French and thank them for getting it right for once.
You know, you really should have traveled more (like once) before you took over. Your ignorance of the world has not only made you look stupid, it has painted you into a corner you can't get out of.

Well, cheer up - there IS good news. If you do go through with this war, more than likely it will be over soon because I'm guessing there aren't a lot of Iraqis willing to lay down their lives to protect Saddam Hussein. After you "win" the war, you will enjoy a huge bump in the popularity polls as everyone loves a winner - and who doesn't like to see a good ass-whoopin' every now and then (especially when it 's some third world ass!). So try your best to ride this victory all the way to next year's election. Of course, that's still a long ways away, so we'll all get to have a good hardy-har-har while we watch the economy sink even further down the toilet!

But, hey, who knows - maybe you'll find Osama a few days before the election! See, start thinking like THAT! Keep hope alive! Kill Iraqis - they got our oil!!

Yours, Michael Moore

Michael Moore is a f**kin dumbass. did you see him on the oscars last night? Yeah, I would say he's a f**k. And like I said before, French people don't have a say in this.

Oh, and isn't it interesting to note that when Clinton went into Iraq NOBODY GAVE A FLYING f**k!?

First, mirx999, you watch too much f**king Hannity and Colmes. Get over it, Fox News is horrendous as is he. Like Hannity, you completely miss the god-damned point. When Clinton went into Iraq and bombed it, he did not intend to change the f**king government. He did not go in and INVADE the country with ground forces with the intent to literally overthrow a government which has taken absolutely NO aggressions against us.

Not only is the idea of pre-emptive strikes completely against U.N. resolutions, but the fact that Bush ever said Iraq was a threat to America was a bold faced lie. Everyone with any sort of political clout and intelligence noted that Iraq posed little to no threat to the USA. True, they were in defiance of UN Resolutions (as are approximately 98 countries in violation of various resolutions, including the United States of America), but it was not for any of the reasons Bush originally stated. We know Sadaam is an a**h**e, Michael Moore didn't say Sadaam wasn't. We know the world is better without Sadaam, Michael Moore didn't say it wasn't. Nor did I.

But the fact is this: we cannot go around the world simply invading every country we dislike or every country which even remotely distabilizes a region. We can't. It's bad policy and it's borderline imperialistic. Iraq posed no threat to us, and if you want to talk about threats - look at North Korea, which has Nuclear Weapons which can literally reach anywhere in the USA. That's a true threat. That is where diplomacy should be stretched and then war should begin. I would support that war. But this war is completely unwarranted, and everyone knows it. Michael Moore is correct, and for once the conservative right is oh-so-wrong.

Man Amir0x, you're a funny guy. What channel are you watching for news? The whole point of the war was to kill Saddam and change the government. Incase you didn't know, it is a good thing for the people of Iraq. This is a war of liberation. Saddam has killed well over 250,000 of his own people. He tests his chemical weapons on them. The bastard hides himself and his troops, those that support him, in school buildings and hospitals. What kind of a coward does that? And what kind of person burns up his own country with oil fires? And there are British troops in Iraq and Turkey wants to join them. Coalition of the Willing. Willing being the key word. I also think that if celebrities like the Dixie Chicks are so ashamed of being American then they can go to Iraq and be one of Saddam's human shields. My signature expresses my feelings toward the French.

The point is not whether Sadaam is an a**h**e or whether the world is better without him, the point is whether or not the reason we're going to war - essentially on the premise that Iraq is a threat to us - is valid. And it's not valid. On the premise that he's an inhumane dictator, we'd have to take out 3/4th of the countries in Africa, 25% of the countries in South America, and about a quarter of the rest of the world as well. We cannot simply invade and overthrow a regime because we dislike what he is doing unless it is directly effecting other countries.

And don't fool yourself because you've been raped by propaganda. This is far away no war of liberation. It's a war of carefully articulated mistakes and miscalculations, with Bush over-speculating on what Iraq truly had and with other countries - mainly North Korea and Iran - coming out as the true threats. Iraq is no threat to us, he's barely a threat to Kuwait and Israel anymore. He's a shell of his former self, and weapon inspections would of contained (note: the weapons inspectors would NEVER of worked. We realize this. The point is to contain him until we deal with the larger threats.) him until we eliminated the much more dangerous rogue nations in this world. Iraq has some biological and chemical weapons that they can attach to a few scuds which could possibly hit Kuwait City and Tel Aviv. Possibly. No threat to the USA whatsoever, which is what Bush originally stated.

North Korea? North Korea admitted that the have an interest in selling nuclear weapons to the highest bidder. North Korea tested stage 2 (SUCCESSFULLY) nukes which can reach California, Hawaii and Alaska. The CIA director stated under oath that he is almost positive that North Korea has a few untested stage 3 nukes which can reach ANYWHERE in the United States of America. North Korea has already threatened us with aggression multiple times since they restarted up their nuclear facilities and shut down - in violation of about a dozen U.N. resolutions - the cameras. Not only are they TRULY distabalizing the region (Japan states that if N. Korea fires a weapon upon them they WILL retaliate), but they have the weapons to cause the type of danger that Bush WANTED Iraq to be able to cause to validate his excursion into the Middle East.

Don't even get me started on Iran.

Its also pretty hard to find Soap in france amongst other things .

"I would rather have a German division in front of me than a French one behind me."
-- General George S. Patton
"The only time France wants us to go to war is when the German Army is sitting in Paris sipping coffee."
--Regis Philbin
"I don't know why people are surprised that France won't help us get Saddam out of Iraq. After all, France wouldn't help us get the Germans out of France!"
--Jay Leno
now those celebrity quotes make a lot more sense to me.

How many Frenchmen does it take to change a light bulb? One, he holds the bulb and all of Europe revolves around him.

Next time there's a war in Europe, the loser has to keep France.

mirx999 and 4me2: By insulting France, you simply lower the stance that you take. It's immature and frankly is not worthy of being in this discussion. I note how you two have not confronted ANY of the issues I discussed and instead fell upon quotes of famous people in order to validate your views. You can hate France all you like, but keep it civilized. Damn.

Skiz: Yeah man, it's a nice place. I wish more people were actively posting - particularly here - but it'll do.

The f**kin point is that he used VX and Sarin gas on his OWN f**kING PEOPLE. If Clinton was in office, would you still want him in office if he killed off the entire minority population? I didn't think so. And if you think that people didn't hate Clinton's belligerent ways because his goal was not to oust a violent dictator, then maybe I should present you with the situation that happened in Serbia. what do you have to say to that? As for the quotes: France is a bunch of backstabbing assholes. So what if I watch Fox News? The point is, they promised support; they lied. They said they weren't selling weapons to Iraq; they lied. It doesn't a genius to see that the French government has betrayed the world.

The train was very crowded, so the soldier walked the full length of the train, searching for an empty seat. The only unoccupied seat was that next to a middle aged, well dressed French woman and was being used by a well coiffured poodle. The war weary soldier asked, "Please ma'am, may I sit in that seat?"
The French woman looked down her nose at the soldier, sniffed and said, "You Americans, you are a very rude class of people. Can't you see my little Fifi is using that seat?"
The soldier walked away, limping on his wounded leg, eager to find a place to rest, but after walking the full length of the train found himself standing before the same lady with the dog.
Again he asked, "Please, lady, may I sit there? I am exhausted."
The French woman wrinkled her nose and snorted, "You Americans are not only rude, but you are also arrogant and disrespectful."
With this the weary soldier very calmly reached down, picked up the dog and briskly threw it out of the window of the moving train and sat down in the empty seat.
The woman shrieked and railed, and demanded that someone defend her and chastise the soldier.
An English gentleman sitting across the aisle spoke in a very calm, strong voice. "You know sir, you Americans do seem to have a penchant for doing the wrong thing. You eat with the wrong hand, you drive on the wrong side of the road, and now sir, you have thrown the wrong bitch out of the window."

Hackers Replace Al-Jazeera Web Site With American Flag

By Ted Bridis
AP Technology Writer
Thursday, March 27, 2003; 1:19 PM

Hackers on Thursday replaced the English-language Web site for Arab satellite television network Al-Jazeera with a U.S. flag and the message "Let Freedom Ring."

The hackers, calling themselves the "Freedom Cyber Force Militia," briefly hijacked Internet traffic destined for Al-Jazeera's Web site and redirected it to a different Web page on computers operated by Networld Connections Inc., an Internet provider in Salt Lake City.

The likely hacking technique, called "DNS poisoning," fools so-called domain name servers across the Internet and is relatively difficult to defend against. Internet records show the Web directories sending traffic to Al-Jazeera's site were changed early Thursday, apparently without authorization.

The page also included the message, "God bless our troops," signed by a self-described "Patriot." There was no response to an e-mail sent to an address on the Web page.

"Certainly, it has been hacked," acknowledged Jihad Ali Ballout, a spokesman for Al-Jazeera. He described the attack as "a frontal, vicious attack on freedom of the press" and urged anyone with information about the hackers to contact authorities.

The Arab network's Web site has been suffering disruptions for days, ever since it showed pictures of dead and captive U.S. soldiers in Iraq.

Al-Jazeera, also based in Qatar, is an unusually independent voice in the Arab world.

Ummm I don't know if you've noticed but Iraqi's have paraded that they wanted to kill US citizens. Well I guess to Moore that isn't a threat it's just a wish right?

But take a look, recently Iraqi's had a protest today against the US without getting shot, how much you want to bet if they were protesting Saddam they'd be nothing but corpses now?

Amazing how so many peace protestors don't acknowledge freedom of speech and choose to abuse it with protests comparing Bush to Hitler. They should be ashamed.

alright, first off, this is a freakin ANCIENT topic, so dont be draggin up stuff thats already been swept under the rug. second, saddam killed his people in mass well before and after 87, whether it be with vx or not, so that statements bs. third, if you are seriously freakin sick enough to try to cover up and/or draw attention away from that fact for ANY reason, political, personal, or whatever else, then youve got no excuse to even be alive, so do the world a favor and fire off a round or two into your temple. finally, this is a forum for XBOX MODDING, not political debate between people who really dont know much about what their talking about (face it people, none of us really know much of anything about what we're saying here cause none of us are involved in it, whether it be on the battlefield, capitol hill, or otherwise).

and since ive just noticed that that was your first post and it was made a day after you signed up, might i add that you definitely need to seek some mental help and get out for a while, cause you obviously dont do much if your sittin there sifting through threads that are over half a year old in an xbox forum so you can whine about politics.

now would somebody please lock this thread before its allowed to flare up again.

Question

I never understood why people put so much stock into what "Celebreties" say about politics.. I mean, would you take advice from Michael Moore on how to raise your family, or housetrain your dog? How about how you pick up chicks?

Just because he produces movies it doesnt mean that he should use his platform to attack public figures that do not agree with his ideals. Would you really listen to Larry Flint's advice on who you should vote for? After all, he produces movies also..

I know I will probably get blasted here by the french people, or all the little kids that come onto this site and post because they know everything. And I am not knocking your views.. But if this country is to succeed, you will need to educate yourself. Go out and READ for gods sake.. GO to the library, read history. In truth, looking at numbers, Bush has lead one of the BEST war's ever in the history of the USA. He has also had one of the most difficult terms in office ever. Does that mean that he has done everything right? NO, do I agree with everything that he has done? NO.. But do you really think that Al Gore would have done a better job? I dont, but that is my opinion.. If you dont agree with me, get your arse out there and vote in November.

But make sure you EDUCATE yourself BEFORE you vote, either way.. Dont rely on all the TV ad's to tell you the truth, there is always SPIN out there.. (If you dont know what spin is, you dont need to vote)

Bottom line is that if you rely on Michael Moore, a proven communist, to give ou your political advice, and to make your political decisions, then nothing I have said will mean anything, rather you will just dismiss it as s%$t or crap.. and you will just try and flame me.. But if you truly agree with him, because you have done your research.. Then more power to you.. That is the beauty of being in America, you are FREE to CHOOSE.. Wont it be nice when those people in Iraq have the same right?
