Buy old xbox off ebay!!! are you mad? with all bodged up half working RROD lets only work for 3 months xbox's about!!! not a good idea.KCor said:If it's a new console then you're probably not going to be happy with it. Would have been better off buying an older one off eBay.
More than likely you're going to have to solder it.
Yeah it is supported and can be flashed but ya need to do via MRA method which involves some electronic work (soldering). Although it not too dificult if you have done this type of thing before.yoshiroaka said:But if the drive comes with the 93450 firmware cant he use the TeamJungle iXtreme Lite Touch?

In the description it says it supports flashing with that firmware.
Im interested because i have to replace my xbox 360 and i dont want to buy one that cannot be flashed to play my backups.

There is now a solder-less option for newer lite-ons.yoshiroaka said:thefryman said:Yeah it is supported and can be flashed but ya need to do via MRA method which involves some electronic work (soldering). Damn, well ive never done soldering before so i dont think i want to try.
This really sucks, i may really have to buy an older xbox.
Has mentioned before, you can go to 360drives.com an put in the units info. If it's brand spanking new it's probably a 9xxx series.xyax said:okay, i got my 360 i have the 2 yellow wires, so that means i got liteon i belive. Is there anyway to check the firmware without opening my 360 fully?
I had the same problem with mine. It RRoD and i did the llama x-clamp fix and it worked fine for almost a year until it RRoD again. I re-pasted and it works for like 2 months. Now whenever i re-paste it only works for like a couple of days.thefryman said:I have had five 360's myself 3 have had rrod, fixed them and run for some time but it dont last for ever, i could get them going for some time and put on ebay and make some money, but i am not a twat, unfortunately some people are. So ebay is a big risk!!!!
