There are three xboxs in this story we will call then A(x3 1.6), B(x3 1.6), and C(x3 1.6b).
Background....Xbox A installed the chip. didnt really know what i was doing flashed it alot of times to many banks. Fianlly got it to load the x3config. After trying to load a dashboard unsuccessfully the chip would not boot past the rox your box screne. Thought i broke the xbox so i bought another.

Friend came over with his xbox and brand new chip. Flashed bios and loaded dash with no problems.

Put chip from xbox A into new xbox C. Same problem would not go past the rox your box screne. And when i tried to flash it screne would go blank. Took chip and hard drive from working xbox B into xbox C and worked fine. Put chip from xbox C into xbox B and had some problem froze at rox my box screne, BUT I WAS ABLE TO FLASH IT. So i flashed it to off on off off. Same result. Flashed to on on off off same result. Held y x a b to reset did not work. In fact the custom load screne i made when the chip was in xbox A is still there.

Anyone have any idea what is going on? Or how to reset the chip manually? aim=licensedchrome. I am willing to pay pal whoever can figure this out $25. [email protected]

just hotswap the chip and flash it with the correct bios - simple as sh*t

if you feel the hdd is dodgy - just un;ock it and connect it to an xbox that works and then make sure any fils that are not there are put back

very simple stuff - genius not required

in fact genius is never required for this easy stuff

Let's go through what you did in a little more detail.

OK, Xbox A - You got it to flash correctly but it eventually got hung on the rox your box logo...

You did make some changes in x3config live because you said...

So it would seem that xbox a might work but maybe you screwed up your x3config live or bios... if it worked once but not now... and the only thing you changed is software settings... anyway, let's move on.

Ok, this is xbox b, our control... everything working fine.

Xbox C... the new one you bought is questionable because we have never seen it work... Same errors you were getting on A... Did you do a new install on this one or did you use the parts form A... since you used the same chip? Ok, let's keep going...

In the end we have two chips... one from A and one from B.. the B chip works fine no matter where it goes... the A chip doesn't work in A, B or C.

We have two HDD's as well... I personally don't think that they play a role... to test this put the HDD from C to B and the chip from B and see if it works... if it locks up then... reformat the HDD with slayer or somthing and try again. I seriously doubt that just the HDD will make be freeze. SO your variable is the chip form A...

Now for the god news bad news... the good news is C has a working install... It is ready to go! The bad news is in the proccess of modding you destroyed A's chip. It might have been screwed up to begin with but by your own admission you've messed with it pretty hard.

So, if you buy a new chip and throw it in C you know for a fact it'll work because B's chip works... just test the HDD so you don't have to get another one of those... (I doubt you will though)

Sorry that you can't fix it with the hardware at hand... but if you were willing to pay some stranger $25 to fix it... then an extra $25 won't be too bad.

Good luck!!
