Seeing as these forums are a collective of very tech savvy individuals, I'm curious as to why there isn't a Misc Tech Discussion area? Yes I realize these forums are for modding xboxes; but still, it would be very helpful and might even add a little more traffic to the site. I for one would love to be able to ask some of these folk in the forums on advice for fixing the massive amount of electronics I have that need fixing. Not even just gaming consoles, but stereo receivers and other stuff of the like.

Just an idea for the moderators or whoever edits these forums to think about.

U.K.
I think that's the problem, they get more then enough traffic as it is. And I think its all funded by TX without adverts so adding more traffic would prob just put the the hosting cost up and then they would have to raise the prices to fund it.

But it would be great to have if it wouldn't cause to much grief?

Remember months ago when some kid posted a thread on reddit's /r/gaming, with pictures of an original xbox modded with some ancient mod-chip. That brought thousands of users to this site and crashed it for a week. I think it's like Ian said, this site has enough traffic as is. I mean after all there are tons of other sites to get general tech support.

There was an "off topic" forum at one time but it didn't last long. This site is geared towards a product support forum and not necessarily a general Xbox support forum. There's places such as Hacksden (which appears to be down ATM) and Team360 for topics like your talking about.
