missing operating system error

when i try to boot from my usb drive it says missing operating system. i followed all the instructions why am i getting this"?

you have it set in the bios to boot on a usb.right.

its rare but some of the older computers wont boot off a flash

I am running Windows Vista and have a fairly new computer. Its only like a year old. I have set it to boot from the usb and then it says missing operating system when i do it.

I am doing the thing with my usb drive and i prep then i am unplugging my hdd and dvd drive then i am trying to boot from the usb drive and that is what it says

in my bios there are 3 or 4 different setting for usb.i had to set usb zip as my boot. then set boot from other device
its not seeing your flash.play in the bios try all the options
