Modded xbox, three red lights, sent to microsoft ?

If i have modded my xbox and i get the three red lights and it need to be sent to microsoft, what will happen to it, i know they charge £50 for non warranty repairs but will they ban my xbox live account? has anyone been in the same position as me? PLEASE ANSWER AS I AM SLIGHTLY WORRIED! THANKS

Just for an update i checked the code and it stated unkonwn problem so it's already been sent, just want to know where i stand. THANKS

Some people have been lucky and got them replaced or repaired. You too might be lucky. If they find it has been tampered with they will return it to you the same way they got it, (unrepaired).
