Hi all,
First off, sorry in advance if this is in the wrong forum.
I've been trying to mod Yu-Gi-Oh 5D's Decade Duels to obtain all the cards. Recently it was updated and now contains many more cards than before, so the mod tool that already exists for it is outdated. I transferred the save onto a USB, loaded it in a save program, and extracted the "savegame" file from the YU_GI_OH0.dat file. I opened the savegame file in a hex editor and edited some values (I found the pattern and what to change the values to to obtain the cards).
I save, replace the old savegame file with the newly edited one, rehash and resign, and load up the file on the 360. Problem is, every time I do it, I get a message that says "Your save data is corrupt. Would you like to erase it and create new save data?"
Now, I'm almost positive I'm editing the correct values. When I edit the values and save, the game save goes up in size from 80 kb to 104 kb, so it should be working. But for some reason it's just corrupt.
Can anyone help me troubleshoot this problem? Did the company who made this game just put in anti-modding security via an update or something? I can't think of what would be going wrong. Thanks in advance for any help.
Also, I've tried modding the game save and transferring it back to the computer to look at the contents (after getting the "corrupt save" message on the 360). After inspecting the file contents again, the hex values have reverted to what they were before I edited them. Is there anything I can do to get past this? I've heard elsewhere that this could be because of a checksum. What exactly is this, and is there a way for me to get around it?
