Mode Not Supported on JTAG!!!!

Just switched on my xbox 360 and im getting Mode Not Supported on my samsung tv, tried resetting xbox dispay with Y & RT but now it says no signal.

I am using a component lead because the xbox doesnt have HDMI.

Any help please

Try booting with the eject button. Make sure you're getting a picture.

Forgot to say, yesterday i went on it for about 1 hour and the picture started to go all funny with lines going throught it, do you think its a problem with the GPU?

Could be, or have you moved the xbox lately? Maybe one of the pins in the connector (xbox side) is pushed back or so...
(BTW, have had people with this problem: they didn't push the cable in far enough...)

No buddy ive checked all the connections and the xbox has never been moved apart from today when i connected it to my pc

so if you power on with the eject button, do your lights cycle on the front at all?

Yes all the lights work perfectly as if its booting up normally but without video and sound

Ok its come back on, but the graphics are all messed up

Now its gone off and wont come back on again

How confident are you in your cable? Is it definitely working? Have you moved the TV/AV switch by mistake etc?

If you've checked all these, it might be the GPU.

I have tried a vga cable and it does exactly the same, i have also checked the switch on the component lead as well

whats this all about mate? if thats the replacement then i have to ask what you are doing to them lol. that console was my own and has been played to death with never the slightest issue since its repair. did you keep it on 100% fans? i'd be very surprised if it is the gpu so i would test your leads in a different xbox to make sure they are good and get another known good one to try in the xbox before giving it to matey. i know he is nearby you but i wasn't impressed at how he jumped in with a message on your profile to let you know this when you had your last issue. one thing to bear in mind though if it goes to another repairer besides karl i will not be offering to pay the cost like before. i don't know this guy so i'm not prepared to take his word on it mate.

ta for the vote of confidence garageinc, theres no need to bad mouth my name in public please!, im more than competent at reballing and repair work, in fact im top notch to say the least. i am a recommended repairer for game and gamestation in accrington, blackburn and burnley so im not a hot air gun cowboym, i use only the very best of everything from rework station, the flux and the thermal paste.

anyway rant over and now standing down from my soapbox.

i wont mess around reballing the old chip as if its been through the repair process a few times it will be on its last legs. it gets a new chip with a good solid ohm reading of over 2 ohms, and give a 3 month warranty on all my work.

like i just said in my pm i fail to see how i bad mouthed you mate. this is warranty work that was specified to go to karl if an issue occured for which i would bear the costs, i cannot offer that for mimicuk if its going somewhere else which i feel is all i said in the first place. at no point do i mention your work as being sub standard or any hint of that. rant unjustified!

i understand that mate but the job had already gone to karl which is why i didn't like the way you did it. if i had as much work on as you claim to have from local games shops there would be no need to poach others work, which to me messaging someone sorting out a job to say you are closer is exactly that mate, maybe others don't share my view but thats it and i'm entitled to it.

The only reason i didnt want to bother you Steve is that you have already gone through the trouble of providing me with a replacement from the last one which i really appreciate buddy.

I just thought that Rory is just up the road from me and i dont mind giving it to him to repair. I just didn't want you to think i was throwing them against the wall to get a new one everytime LOL.

Also regarding thee warranty Steve don't worry, like i said before you bent over backwards last time for me to help me out

So guys lets not fall out at the end of the day its just a games machine.
