This tutorial is for those wishing to use the alternate JTAG points and want to use Jtag Tool as their default application for writing xell & creating freeboot with the latest kernel 12611.
I made this tutorial as many people seem to get stuck following the original tutorial made by Azeem when they have come to the steps of converting XBR to freeboot. In addition this saves time as no need to go through flashing XBR in the first place.
Jtag Tool v2.20
Here we go over the steps needed to make Jtag Tool uses the alternate points by default for both when writing xell and creating freeboot image.
Important: It is important to make sure that Jtag Tool is not running when carrying the steps below.
1. Download the modified xell & SMC files from here.
2. Navigate to where Jtag tool is installed and into xbins folder. Usually this is found in (C:\Program Files\Jtag Tool\Xell Bins). Replace the three files (falcon.bin, jasper.bin & zephyr.bin) with the ones you downloaded from step 1.
3. Next, to replace the SMC files which are used for creating freeboot, again these should be found in (C:\Program Files\Jtag Tool\bin\SMC). For BB Jaspers use the same file jasper.bin from the downloaded pack in step 1 (SMC folder) just make 2 more copies and rename them to jasper256.bin & jasper512.bin receptively.
Note: Do not tick the audio_clamp option in Jtag Tool once you done the above. You just need to compile Freeboot as normal and it will use the alternate points.
Update: I have now added Jasper BB xell & smc files to the download.
This is work in progress as I'm considering adding few extras to it, so feel free to give any feedback. I was also going to include a step by step guide for soldering to the alternate points but thought at this time is not needed as this has been done by others already.
