OK I'm not gonna tells this guys name or his friends since they will get mass friends requests, but they got mods on live I dont know how and they wounldnt tell, but Banshees and Warthogs, Ghosts on Warlock is what I saw. He wouldnt say anything, I asked if he had a chip of soft mod and he sayed no, but he may have been lying. I dont know I recoreded and the vid will be up shortly. I will post a link.

Hmmm, this means one of three things:
1) Somebody has cracked all the codes and encryptions, and is able to burn DVD copies of Halo 2 with the modded maps on the disk and play them on a stock Xbox...
2) With Bungie releasing the new maps, they have accidently created a large security leak...
3) or Microsoft has started pouring all it's resources into the Xbox 360, and have stopped paying attention/caring about what is being played on Live.
I'm guessing number 2. When I first heard about those maps, I began thinking, "security leak!" I mean, as long as you placed the modded maps onto the same place with the new maps on the hard drive, you could still read them with the stock bios... that's my guess. Anybody else?

I think he figured out the right way to sign the maps on the HDD so you can use modded ones, and he also said he knows how to do the ones on the disc, but its hard and not worth it.
Man, that's some crazy sh*t. If Halo 2 multiplayer is ruined, then why buy Halo 2 at all? It's definitley not for the lame ass singleplayer....and it being lame has nothing to do with the ending.

OK I heard them talking and it seems they do boot the maps off the HDD, so they replaced the maps on the HDD, the DLC ones, with modded ones and made it so Live can't tell there modded, IE signing them the right way.
I think I know the basic idea; it happened with the release of the new Halo 2 maps. Bungie/Microsoft created a big security leak.
With the new downloadable maps, you have to save them on the HDD. I'm 95% sure that all they did was take the new map, and replace it with a signed modded map, and used a custom game. There is no way Microsoft can keep track of everything on Live, so they passed right on over it...

Yes you are right, but the problem is that the signature encryption is different then what has been released, so somehow they got pass the new encyption. From what I have gathered they didn't actually figure it out, but they somehow bypassed it. A friend of mine metioned using a slighty altered M$ BIOS, so you could still get on live without getting banned, but you could bypass the signature check. This was just an idea though
Like a debug bios? I had been wondering if I installed the XDK stuff on a fresh virgin(non-live) xbox if I would be able to log into live. I wonder if that's what they have done?
hmm maybe, I was thinking that, but now I'm starting to doubt that therio I dont know I may try later. O I forgot to mention of one of the guys said he dosent even have a softmod installed he just uses the exploit to ftp the maps over. So I think you have to edit the maps or files in the map folder on your computer.

The DLC maps were released to the warez nets within minutes with an installer which could sign them so they would work on Live. I'm assuming that you just take this installer and feed it your modded maps.
Just a guess though, don't blame me if you get banned, I don't even use Live.
