More Far Cry "soon", says Ubisoft exec - Prince of Persia not forgotten either

If you enjoyed stalking around the tropical Rook Islands in Far Cry 3 or terrorizing hapless bandits with robotic dinosaurs in Blood Dragon, you may like this news. Speaking to Gamespot, Ubisoft's vice president of marketing and sales Tony Key has said that thanks to the success of Far Cry 3 and Blood Dragon, we'll definitely be seeing more of the series, with announcements on the way "soon". "It's a great brand," Key observed, "And now it's got the recognition it deserves, so we're clearly going to make another one: more on that soon." He added that "open worlds can represent the future of, you know, gaming, and that's where we're investing huge portions of our resources - because we believe that that is what consumers want."

Key also threw a bone to those awaiting some form of news on a certain Prince of Persia, whom we haven't heard a peep from in ages. "Prince of Persia, it's got a really strong legacy with Ubisoft and it's still there. We have nothing to announce, but, you know, we haven't sold it off or given it away, so be patient."
