I've got a 360 that was flashed with ixtreme and has been banned. I've been reading up about jtag and looks like I if I jtag from a old xbox and use the cpu key on my banned xbox then it basically unbans it.

I've for a friend with a old xbox (still working - not modded) with v2.0.2858 dash and he says since he doesnt ever go online I can take his CPU key. Wants me to ixtreme his console as well.

It looks like its doable since its a older dash. My question is does the jtag leave the original console in a working state - its not going to bust it is it?

Update: I've also found the following bit of info:

The only way it would work is if you retrieved the CPU-key of your old banned 360 before you updated to anything over 849x.

Does this mean if my banned console is on the latest dash and I don't have its CPU key I'm stuffed (even though I have access to a old unbanned console) ?

Update2: Ok - some more reading reveals that since I don't have the CPU key of my banned xbox and its on the latest dash I"m stuffed! Son of a....!

if he never goes online, you can jtag his as well. You can use the same key on both, he just can not go online. Using a key that does not belong to the xbox is risky and you will be banned quickly. As Far as I am concerned this should work.

Look up key donor, essentially you make your xbox think it is another one by replacing a lot of keys.

Edit: apparantly you need your cpu key.
