yes, but you can only have power to one hard drive at a time, so you'd need to get a special IDE cable that would reach both hard drives, then make a switch for power between the two.

Far from here!
You wouldnt be able to use it at the same time. You would have to have a switch to go back and forth. Is that what you were talking about?

oh yeah! <smacks self in forehead>. Should work, but only one can have power. I honestly don't know what would happen if you powered them both on with one set to master and one set to slave. Let us know!

Ok here goes (I posted in another thread)

I found out that you can’t just put 2 hard drives in on the same cable; if you do the Xbox just hangs at the flubber. I learned (from this thread) that you can’t have both drives powered at the same time.

Now my soldering is good - but I don’t like a lot of wiring, so I found out that rather than switching all the wires +12v yellow +5 Red and 2 earth wires, I could just cut the red +5v wire. This seems to power down the IDE controller part of the drive, makes for less wires and a simpler switch.

I can now switch between HD0 and HD1 at the flick of a toggle switch.

Plus I have just bought a replacement DVD off eBay for £30 including P&P.

All I need now is a UK supplier of a modded IDE cable that will support 3 devices.

Anyone knows of one – I have seen the Llama one as posted in this thread, but I would rather get one from a UK supplier.

Lemme clear something up here. Multiple HDD setups need to be done correctly. You need to switch all four wires from the molex connector and should really have a dynamic IDE switch in place (these are currently not produced). The reason for this is just because the drive appears to be powered down, it is not, there is still current traveling through it which can lead to drive and partition corruption. Also, there is the whole theory of IDE deterioration. If you want to get serious about the setup, check out Palmores 100 page thread on X-S for some really useful information about multiple HDD setups.

Actually your wrong, that tutorial is wrong bud. Palmore has been around multiple HDD setups since they started and if you would have done any research on what I said about IDE deterioration you would have found out that I am right but whatever, f**king kids on this board are amazing im done with Xecuter yall can kiss my ass!

EDIT: BTW, here is a link to the issues I referred you to.

Maybe you should stop listening to all these know-it-all fanboys and start doing some of your own research, I have sat back and watched these guys give people wrong answers so many times and tell people to do things that aren't necessarily the correct way to do things or they just completely overlook issues like the one I mentioned here for you. Technically speaking, what you have is alright, but there are in fact issues with it that YOU NEED TO BE AWARE OF so you dont wake up and turn it on to find your drives are screwed. But I guess even though I backed myself up, I am still the one whos wrong because I am overpowered by fanboys right? f**k you!

Look son,

I'm messing arround with £99 worth of game console.

I have seen many tutorials, one even switched wire 23 on the IDE cable.

If my Xbox blows up - I'll buy a new one :)

So you have done with executer have you ? - I bet hes crying his eyes out

Keep your rancid views to yourself.

If you cant act like a man - go get a playstation.

Yea I am done with Xecuter sh*t Im not gonna waste my time on them anymore because of their little fanbase that dont know sh*t. Actually you have the console and the cost of 2 hard drives bud so thats more than 99, but whatever its your loss not mine
