Motion sensor not working???

Guessing he's talking about capacitive touch power/eject on the slim. If so there could be a number of reasons. Best bet is to replace front panel/ribbon and see if that fixes. If not try a knew ROL board.
It's the camera that moves around and follows the kids. Takes pictures of the kids at the end of dance music. I forget what's it's actually called. You can give the xbox directions with your hands with it ect...

No, not to update it. I am going to RGH it and I think it needs to be below a certain update. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Once you glitch the console, make sure you install system update data.
This will install essential component data for Avatars and Kinect.
Read Martin's roadmap for more information about which hack can be used on your console.
After reading the very top of Martin's Roadmap. I see I can update the dashboard. Could that update the Kinect???
I did read it and it does answer the question once I have glitched it. I'm not doing that yet and would like for it to work in the meantime.

Assuming you have a slim, it doesnt matter. You can update now. If you have a phat it could force you into RGH2 which still works but requires different hardware (Rjtag) for consistent boot times. Blakey did answer your question.
