Hi Folks,

I have just had an extremely bad experience with mrmodchips.co.uk. I purchased an Xecuter 2.6 CE and Xapt3r Solderless Combo. Unlike many other posts I have read, I believe it arrived quite quickly. Unfortunately I was away on business and the porters in my building signed for it.

When I finally arrived back and opened the packet, the plastic box with the Xapt3r in it was bashed and open and the contents were loose in the envelope.

There seemed to be no screw to hold the Xapt3r in place on the motherboard.

When I contacted mrmodchips for help through the only way possible (the helpdesk system onsite), the reply I got was as follows:

"Sorry we are not responsibe for your loss of parts of install kits.

All kits are fully checked prior to despatch to ensure they are complete and correct.

'After 24 hours, from time and date of delivery to given delivery address, all orders will be deemed accepted as in full & in working condition by you.'

As taken from the shippign and returns policy and aggreed by your prior to purchase

Thank you"

And the ticket was immediately closed.

I opened 3 further tickets - each being closed almost as soon as they were opened - just plain and simply asking how I install the adapter!

Can someone help - suggest where I may purchase(even in a bricks and mortar store) a new screw? Surely it cannot be that difficult as I live in London, England!

Thanks for your help!

You can use the screw that is normally on the mobo to hold it in place

I have tried that and unfortunately it doesnt allow all the contacts to stay in the right place on mine (v1.4) the screw is just not long enough :-(

But thanks for trying!

I had a spare 1.4 layin around and i just put an xapt3r in it with a regular screw just fine, the end (farther from screw) was up just a little bit but it still works

I'm sorry to here you got ripped off. But did you get the pinheader with the chip? If so whay not solder it in or get some one to do it for you. You will be better off this way as these solderless adapter have a habit of comimg loose.

In the last to weeks all i have been doing is reinstall for people who had to have the solderless setup and would not listen to me. Now they are running back and paying me to install the pinheader.
