ms 25 Cannot read disk Tried evrything or Not please Help

I just recently got the an xbox 360 guy sold it for 10$ because it wouldnt read games anymore it reads dvd's and cs's but no games. I used textbooks method for modding i am pretty sure it worked but it still wont read games.i took the dvd drive apart to see if it had a loose washer and it did not. i also tried using the rubberband method and that didnt work. i was hoping someone could give me some fresh advice on how to get it to work.

Someone please help me. I ahve read and tried doing all kinds of different things to get the drivr to read games but it wont work. I even tried reflashing it but i cant get past the firm guard i tried textbooks method using the 0800 cd and also the 10 sec delay flash but neither of them are producing results. I have spent more than a few hours frustrated and with no resukts can someone please help?

Sounds like this guy bricked the drive before he sold it to you. Unless you have the original firmware. You just have a $10 DVD player.

how can i be sure that the drive is bricked? if in fact it is bricked where can i get a new drive and how much will it cost?

I was also wondering is it absolutely necessary to have a via card to do the ms 28 bad flash method? because i have just been plugging it to my sata ports on my motherboard. when i first flashed the ms 25 using this port it worked i am wondering if the reason i cant do the bad flash method is beacuse i dont have a via card.

Any suggestions ? Anybody??????

If it won't play original OR burned games, then the drive is almost certainly bricked.

I use a VIA sata card for all of my flashes.

I believe that you need to have the original.bin in order to place another drive onto your current motherboard so buying a new drive may not solve your problem. But to answer your question, you can get the drives on eBay.

good news i talked to previous owner he said he never modded the console and when i flashed it the first time i was able to back up the original firmware. However i am still having trouble flashing it again and i am afraid it still wont read burned disks but maybe i can buy a new drive. Something intresting happened however before the console gave me the error message that the disk could not be read it notified me that in order for me to play that game that i would have to update software and it gave me an option to do it so i did it. idont know if this had anything to do with why it wont read disks but if anyone has any info it would really help me a lot thanks!!!!!
