Hey guys. This will probably be a long post, but just so you know, I HAVE researched as much as I possibly could before posting this. Here it goes. I got the Xecuter 2.6CE mod (xbox is v1.1, according to software, other websites say its v1.2-v1.3; Conexant) with 160 gig hd about 2 weeks ago, installed it & everything not MS related works fine. It's just getting into the original MS dash I'm getting confused about. From my new dash, it just sits there at the loading screen when loading the MS dash, and when I turn the chip off to load the original MS dash, it starts to load it like normal, then it 'reboots' back to the beginning of the XBOX 'splash' screen, over & over again. HD is locked, I've tried formatting, reloading evox & the orig. ms dash, loading the orig eeprom from the original hd (backup eeprom.bin & so on), I checked my D0 connection, looks like a good & solid connection, and everything else I could find, even making sure the chip is seated right on the pin. The orig HD works fine with the xbox mod chip both on & off. So I don't 'think' I have a problem with the chip install (d0 connection, etc etc). The only thing I can think of now is to reinstall the dash & orig MS dash since I did the eeprom flashing. Other than that, I'm not finding any other new 'fixes' or ideas of how to fix it. Any help/suggestions will be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

And easy fix is to get the slayer install disk and load off that. It will recreate all your partitions and files... but since you just modded your box that shouldn't be a big deal.

It will also set up all the M$ configs to factory default.

That should do it. :)

Or if you have an XBOXLIVE game, use a file explorer to find a file from that game called dashupdate.xbe, press A on it and it will update your ms xboxdash.

I guess the dashupdate.xbe only updates your msdash, so it doesn't restore it. Oh well good that you got your msdash back.
