I have read every post I can find on the subject, watched all of the videos several times, and read the Noob tut multiple times before attempting to dump/flash my ms25 drive.

I used iprep to setup my usb drive for flashing. My sata cable connects to a Siig 2 port sata card, my connection has been to the inside port.
Anyways, I was able to successfully use idump following the noob textbook. But when i followed the steps to do the iflash, i selected the drive and it gave me a sceen full of "fail to write" errors. And now my drive fails to be recognized when i reboot, the green center light flashes on my 360, and my drive wont eject. :(

I have verified that i have the orig.bin with the serial number from the dump, and have saved it on two computers in three places for safe keeping.

Any advice you may have to fix this would be much appreciated. Thanks

what chipset is in your computer.thev25 and v28 drives do best with the via chipset.

when you did the idump did you see samtool run and build the hacked firmware.

will the 360 play orig games.if not you will have to try to reflash with the orig firmware.then start over(would be the safes way)
dont loss that orig firmware.

when you turn on the 360 what does it do

The chipset is a initio (non via)

I did see samtool run and build the hack.

360 will do nothing but flash at me and drive wont eject.

if it wont play ANY games you need to go back orig.

Restoring your original firmware
If you ever wanted to restore your original firmware for what reasons, then all you would need to do to
restore your original firmware is use the directions for upgrading firmware, to disable FirmGuard, so
you are able to flash your original firmware to the Xbox360 DVD drive.
Few things you need to keep in mind:
- Be sure after you’ve created the boot disk with Xtreme Boot Maker or iprep, to transfer your original
firmware you have backed up earlier, to your boot disk. Make a folder in Backups /[7-digit
serial]/[5-digit serial]/ on the bootdisk you have just made, and copy over your orig.bin.
- You can’t use xRead or xFlash to restore original firmware. When you are ready to flash and
you have disabled FirmGuard, in this case you have to use the command :
MTKFlash w /m /sata Backups/[7-digit serial]/[5-digit serial]/orig.bin

after you get it back orig we will start again.

i have heard that using other chipset can do weird things.

i dont under stand why you can dump but not flash that dont sound right.the only thing i can offer is try a via sata chipset card.
http://tekgems.com/Products/la-pci22-vt6421l.htm
i have used it to do all thing to a v25 and v28.
if it wont play orig games you must get it back to the stock firmware.
dont lose the orig firmware

Success! I bought the Via 6421L card and installed it, followed Textbooks noob tut on how to reload the orig.bin onto the drive. Then I started from the top. In less than 5 minutes I was up and running. NICE!!!

First I would like to give props to Textbook for the awesome tutorial for noobs like me. Second a Huge thanks to Cofree for helping me along the way, and renewing confidence in me that I could fix it myself if I had the right equipment.

And to anyone else stuck in my situation where you can't seem to read or flash the drive... BUY the VIA CARD, and follow textbooks noob tut. It worked flawlessly. :D

see i told you we could get it going.
im glad you got it.

remember when you wont to flash a new firmware you dont have to go orig.you can just dump then flash.

keep that orig in more than one place.
