ms25 or ms28?

I just purchased a replacement Sammy drive as my Hitachi 78 drive died.

When I ordered off ebay, the Sammy was suppose to be a MS28 - however when i got the drive, the original label on the drive says MS25 (but has a sticker that said MS28 on top of this).

Could you tell me, if there is a software that can read which version of the drive i have?

Would I brick the drive if I used the MS28 method on a MS25 drive? or vice versa?

you can use the bad flash method on either sammy drive. you can only use the ms25 method on that particular drive. it wont work with a ms28.
