I had a MS25 drive, I flashed it in Feb of this year with Xtreme 5.2A, it worked at first :) , but since about July its been going down hill, 90% of the time commercial games, gave me teh Open Tray error, then the other 10%, they sent me to the "Insert this game into a 360 Console" screen. So I I just bought a Pre-flashed MS25 drive to replace my original. I am no longer recieving the Open Tray Error, though it always sends me to the "Insert this game into a 360 Console" screen. I have my firmware to my original MS25. But I don't think flashing that to the new drive will work. And I don't know how to get the Drive Key out of the flashed firmware. Any help on how to get up and running again would be nice, or at least how to get my key out of the new drives flashed firmware, and place it into my old drives original firmware...thanks in advance. :) I am still not sure which firmware my new drive has on it.

The easiest way is to follow Textbook's tutorial for a Samsung to dump the firmware from your dying drive. Then when the tutorial tells you to you reboot the PC + 360 after dumping, you will power off the 360 and switch the drives. Then you finish following the tutorial to flash the new drive.

** You'll need to use a VIA chipset or 0800 disc to disable the Firmguard on both drives. The 0800 is covered in the Updating Firmware section of the tutorial.

Can no one help? I'm sorry to spam, but I have read tutorial after tutorial and none of them have answered this question. I just bought a new drive, I really don't want to mess it up. And since I bought the new drive pre flashed with a hacked firmware(i don't know which one :( ), I don't have the original firmware to my new drive. Though I do have the original firmware to my dead drive. According to bigd, I can flash the original firmware that came from my old drive to my new drive to make it like default since they are both Samsung MS25s??? Thanks in advance :D

Well you could do that and it will work fine, but if you read my post carefully that's not at all what I told you to do. Following my post would create new hacked firmware with the appropriate key, you would not be flashing the orig.bin from the old drive to the new drive.

But since the new drive is already hacked, you could just dump the firmware that's currently on it and then boot into Windows. Open your old firmware (from the dying drive) in Firmware Toolbox and copy the key. Then open the firmware dump that you just did from the new drive and paste the key. Close Toolbox and flash the file with your patched key to the new drive.
