Today I went to go flash my buddies ms 28 drive. I was using extreme bootmaker. I followed textbooks tutorial for ms 28 drives. I updated the 3 files that check and patch your original firmware when samread is all finished. I read the firmware with no problem it checked it and everything was fine.
Once that was done i ran samehack and the firmware flashed ok. Hooked it all back together and i will not read any games originals or backups. It says please insert this disk into a 360 console. When i try to flash back to the orig bios using samorig xxxxxxx xxxxx i get an e65 error. so it appears somewhere that my orig firmware was corrupted. But I can still flash back to the hacked firmware it just will not read any games. Am I screwed or is there any way I Pull my original fw from the hacked version.

Hmmmm..... Do me a favor - download a hex editor, open orig.bin, and goto offset $4000. You should see something like this:

01 11 11 11 11, then 16-bytes of FF, 02 EE EE EE EE, then 3-bytes of BB, then 13-bytes of FF, 03 11 11 11 11, then 16-bytes of FF, 04 etc....

This pattern will continue with 04,05,06,07,08,09,0A,0B, etc... until your 16-byte key is found in a location where 16-bytes of FF or 3-bytes of BB & 13-bytes of FF would normally reside.

Does it follow this pattern?

If you don't know what i mean, download a pdf found here.

Goto page 7 and you'll see what i am talking about. Don't worry about reading it - it doesn't pertain to you.

Does yours look like this?

That is your orig.bin?

Are you sure you updated the files because keycheck checks for a 16-byte key with not more than 3 repeating bytes. So, a 16-byte key of FF's wont pass that test.

If this is the case, you are likely in big trouble...

Read your PM - email your orig.bin to me. Did you see keycheck run and display your key? It sounds to me like it didnt run or you have a completly corruped firmware, which either keycheck or x360sam should have caught.
