MS28 flashing problems

OK...i could use a little help if anyone is available.
Trying to flash my ms28...
ASUS P4P800 SE moBo
Using windows vista (although same thing happens with XP)
Using a VIA VT6421 RAID controller (latest drivers) PCI card
Have Blaster 360 ne attached and working
Using iPrep 101 v. 0.0.2
firmware 1.2 revC (fast or quite gives same results)
Have a Kingston 1GB USB drive

OK first when I create the USB drive via iPrep I get a Drive not ready error..specifically
Exception processing message 0x00000a3 Parameters...etc...
click continue leads to the appropriate finish (Preparation of destination complete...)
Reboot using the USB boot and get to iPrep
Get to the iPrep start screen
start xbox...connect sata cable
Type idump xxxxxxx xxxxx
Drive scanned:
1: XTREME Pri master
choose one drive
..i turn off the xbox...
choose 1
wait 10 seconds (3seconds...,5,7,15, 20, 1 minute...)
Port: dfa0, Master/Slave: a0

Hangs.....hangs....hangs.....forever......
I have no idea wht is up
have disconnected all other drives
have had multiple other issues along the way...no disk found, etc...
also have just tried the xtreme 1.0 firmware with the exact same results
WTF?
Anyone have ANY ideas?

same problem here and I have a gigbyte 965p and am running an intel 6800 processor.

I figured it out!!

I finally broke down and broke open the box to remove the Blaster. I then flashed it directly to the SATA on the 360 dvd drive (exactly like the Textbook) and.....BOOM...flashed first try.

That stupid POS Blaster...I think I will use it to level off the short leg of my couch or something...

make no mistake the blaster does work.(unless you have a bad one)
i have many v25/v28 and they all work good with the blaster

I don't get it... please explain what you did. i have no idea what the "blaster" is. I didnt see it mentioned in the toturial.
