Hi all. Ive just got me an xb360 and like most of here i wanted to moded. I already read the textbook, the faq and I even watched the tutorial. I got 2 pcs both with on-board SATA ports.

One has a biostar mobo with VIA VT 8237 chipset. I know this one is compatible so I used xtreme boot maker to make boot, but for some reason it cant find the sata pots, not even using the custom mtkflash.

The other pc has a shutle mobo with nforce 3 chipset. The sata controller is an nvidia CK8S. This one aint on the list but its detected by xtreme boot maker and i can make the boot without problems. Since its an ms28 i have to use the 0800 disc in order to disable the firmguard and be able to write to the drive. So that leave me somewhat stucked. I got one wich its compatible but that xtreme boot maker cant see the sata, and one that is not compatible but that extreme boot maker does see. I belive ill have to get me a via pci card, but if theres another way to do the hack ill give it a shot.

the 0800 disc is only to disable Firmguard... this is not on a standard MS28, so you won't have any luck using that on your drive...

you'll need to use your VIA VT8237 chipset. i'd suggest installing updated drivers from www.viaarena.com , and installing these without the RAID config utility

also you'd like to make sure your onboard sata is set to NON-RAID (or IDE) in your pc's bios.

Thx for the reply. I updated the drivers for the via chipset mobo. Now xtreme boot maker does find the sata controller. I used the system information to verified wich sata chipset i got, and it says i got a via sata 3149 controller.

Using system information
Code:
Name	VIA Serial ATA Controller - 3149
Manufacturer	VIA SATA/PATA IDE controllers
Status	OK
PNP Device ID	PCI\VEN_1106&DEV_3149&SUBSYS_32061565&REV_80\3&13C0B0C5&0&78
I/O Port	0x0000B000-0x0000B007
I/O Port	0x0000B400-0x0000B403
I/O Port	0x0000B800-0x0000B807
I/O Port	0x0000BC00-0x0000BC03
I/O Port	0x0000C000-0x0000C00F
I/O Port	0x0000C400-0x0000C4FF
IRQ Channel IRQ 20
Driver c:\windows\system32\drivers\videx32.sys (5.1.3790.140,9.50KB(9,728 bytes)
Using pc wizard
Code:
North bridge VIA P4M800CE
South Bridge VIA VT8237 PCI to ISA Bridge
The mainboard manual says i got a P4M800 north birdge, a VT8237R south bridge and that the sata controller is a VT8237R. So now Im not sure wich I got. The sys info says its a 3149 and the manual and pc wizard says its an 8237. I attached a screenshot of xtreme boot maker showing the sata controller. Now im just not sure wich sata controller i got. I either trust sys info, or trust pc wizard and the manual. Ideas/sugestions are welcome. Thx in advance.

Well i did some research and i found the answer for my problem. In case that some1 has the same one or just to cover the thing up ill post what i found.

The motherboard Biostar P4M800-M4 does come with the VT8237R chipset. The south bridge VT8237/VT8237R or VT8237R Plus its used to control the Raid/Sata. So i think that take cares of my problem. Anyways, thx for help.
