krafter is right. I have about 5 multimeters and one of them reads temperature but i only have one multimeter that is auto ranging and it is the only one I have that reads capacitance and I got it for a steal at the pawnshop. It is a fluke 11 and I love it and I will never buy anything else now that I have seen how easy it is to use and how well it works. It is all digital with a 3-way switch and 3 buttons on it so that should tell you it is very simple to use. I cant afford a newer fluke but I found this diamond in the rough and dude wanted $40 for it and it was the best meter I have ever bought, and once you get an auto ranging meter you will never go back.
if you dont screw up soldering or knock components off of the board then you may not need a meter at all, but it is always good to have one and to know how to use it.
