okay so im possibly the most crazy xbox user on earth, or possibly quite clever, though many of you will choose the first, id still like to show you a concept ive been dreaming up, perhaps someone out there will the electronics and programming skills may take up the idea and have a stab at creating it.
so without further ado.
the basis of this idea is that, we use an internet connection to act as a virtual controller.
This would consist of a transmitter and receiver box, which connects to two, or even four controller ports, the box has a switch which enables its owner to select which port they will be playing as (Controller 1 is host by default), they then plug their controller into the box (not the xbox), and await the connection of the other controllers via the internet connection, in contrast (and to simplify), we will use an example with two pads.
Jo plugs his pad and the box into the xbox, set as player 1, his friend plugs his pad in and box set to 2, they connect to the internet and through the server application running on the pc, they play.
the application would need to run the driver for the usb/com port in order to do this.
Possible issues :
Out of sync gaming is a possibility, however if we were to make it so the bolx itself does not send the data to the xbox unless the packet is sent, this should cure possible problems (though possibly not entirely).
the basis of this idea would be that the box would regulate the use of both controller ports, on both machines, and act as an internet controller cord extension..
so flame away , heh, just my concept
