okay so im possibly the most crazy xbox user on earth, or possibly quite clever, though many of you will choose the first, id still like to show you a concept ive been dreaming up, perhaps someone out there will the electronics and programming skills may take up the idea and have a stab at creating it.

so without further ado.

the basis of this idea is that, we use an internet connection to act as a virtual controller.
This would consist of a transmitter and receiver box, which connects to two, or even four controller ports, the box has a switch which enables its owner to select which port they will be playing as (Controller 1 is host by default), they then plug their controller into the box (not the xbox), and await the connection of the other controllers via the internet connection, in contrast (and to simplify), we will use an example with two pads.
Jo plugs his pad and the box into the xbox, set as player 1, his friend plugs his pad in and box set to 2, they connect to the internet and through the server application running on the pc, they play.

the application would need to run the driver for the usb/com port in order to do this.

Possible issues :

Out of sync gaming is a possibility, however if we were to make it so the bolx itself does not send the data to the xbox unless the packet is sent, this should cure possible problems (though possibly not entirely).

the basis of this idea would be that the box would regulate the use of both controller ports, on both machines, and act as an internet controller cord extension..

so flame away , heh, just my concept :)

hahahahaha
not a stupid idea.
the problem.
MOST GAMES are based on random factors.
eg weapons spawn in different locations. health and sh*t.

so you would have 2 people playing 2 different games..
interesting none the less.

i think its a rather interesting idea. if you get them running on the same server then your idea would work. unless you sync the servers on both pc's then both the xboxes should sync vie that internet. wouldnt you have to create a program on the xbox to allow it to connect to the server on play over the internet?

why go through the hassle? just use Xlink Kai or XBConnect
Whilst I like XBConnect, the fact it's limited to System Link only is the only downside.

If what I suggested was possible, you'd be able to play the extra parts of games (live-only stuff) which would only be reachable if you subscribed.

I don't see why I have to pay MS more money than the game itself in order to get 100% out of a game I bought. I paid 100% for it - why can't I get 100% back?

Personally I'd prefer to see an Xbox Live server 'emulator', which would allow you to play Live games on a LAN.....

I second that. There's some really great games that don't support system link. However, I still think XBConnect did a great job. Who can complain about being able to play 70 games for free online ? Not me ! :)
