I currently have the latest X3 bios loaded on 5678. My backup bios doesn't work so I am going to reflash it using EvoX, using Flash Backup ROM utils. What I would like to know is, can I aslo put the FlashBIOS 3.0.3 on any other banks as another backup. Would it matter where I put it? Which util in Evox do use to choose to specify which back or does just changing the dip to select a bank b4 flashing work?

Thanks

Having the latest X3 bios on 5678 is fine, I would have it on 1234 but that's personal preference I guess. You cannot flash your backup area via EVOX. Also there are no other utils that will flash your X3 backup area as far as I am aware. The way to flash your backup ROM area is through X3 Config Live.

Yes you can put flashbios 3.0.3 on another bank. You can put any bios that is compatible with your xbox version on any bank as you like. You could have 4 backup copies in 1, 2 , 3 ,4 if you really wanted. You can put any bios in any bank you wish.

Again in answer to your final question, you don't use EVOX to flash your bios on an X3, you use X3 config Live. There is a modified version of FlashX called FlashX3 which you could use but I don't understand why you would want to as you have everything you need builit into X3 Config Live?

Hope this has helped.

Okay plz forgive my questions if they sound stupid. I am trying to understand how this X3 mod works. 2MB is the total space on the chip, right? So if I have the X3 bios on 5678, and i want to put it on 1234 then put the Flashbios on 1 &2 and also on the backup, is there any certain order that this should be done. Cuz if I put the X3 bios on 1234, and it's still on 5678, then the chip would be full. I am assuming that the whole chip can only be broekn up into either (8) 256k banks, (4) 512k banks, or (2) 1MB banks or (1) 2MB bank. So if I put the X3 bios on both 1MB banks and flash the FlashBIOS 3.0.3 to 1,2,3 or 4, would it overwrite one of the X3 bios's and which one would it be? Hope you can following and cuz I may have babbled on....

yes 2mb is the total space! so if you wanted to get the X3 bios onto banks 1234 you would boot your current X3 bios which is on 5678. Then using config live flash the bios to banks 1234 - simples. It does not matter is the 2MB is full, you can overwrite any bank at any time. You are correct about how the banks are broken up.

If like you said you had the X3 bios on both 1MB banks and then put flash bios on 1,2,3 or 4 it would be your 1MB X3 bios on 1234 that would not work as you have overwritten part of it. 5678 would still be okay.
