Multiple bios sizes?

I'm a little confused on why there are different places to put the bios. I.e 256K spot, 512K spot, 1024k, etc. I am guessing that is because bios' differ in size. But why isn't there just 1 large space? What are the advantages of multiple spaces?

Secondly, is there a FAQ on the different bios' that tell you what one is useful for what appliation/chip? (I'll be using an X3 chip on a 1.6 box).

Finally, from what I gathered, the M8 bios is the one from EvoX right? Is there a reason people are using this as opposed to the X3 Bios?

No flames becuase I don't know these things please. If you don't want to help then don't post. I already searched the forum but didn't come up with anything relevant.

Wireless Computer Networking Problem

We have connected a Belkin Pre-N router to our desktop computer and successfully connected our laptop with a Belkin Pre-N wireless card. We are successfully sharing one Internet connection. The problem is that we can't get the files to be shared from the Shared Documents folder nor can we share the printer (which is connected to the desktop computer). The two computers are set up in the same workgroup. We have selected the share option for the printers and file. And we have run the Setup Network wizard. But still, the files and printer are not able to be shared. My Network Places does not show two computers. We cannot successfully Ping the laptop from the Desktop Computer. Help.
