yeah, simple enough right? but one, where do I get xbmc, and two, how do I install it? anyways, the question I asked about structure is because I want to be able to play the music in the games, so, "[font=verdana, arial, helvetica]play mp3s thriugh xbmc" doesn't really help me now does it?

First off you get XBMC through xbins, in order to do this you will have to read up on how to use mIRC, and FTP clients. You need these programs and know how to use them to obtain files from Xbins. Don't forget to read the rules for mIRC and such if you take too many files in a day you can be banned. Also I don't think you can play a game and listen to mp3's with the xbox. It does not allow you to run XBMC and a game at the same time. So if that is what you are looking at doing than you are most likely out of luck unless a new extension has been built in to XBMC. Try searching the forums for more info on where to obtain files. Also you would FTP XBMC in to your apps folder in your dashboard. Before you do anything I suggest you Read through the fourums most likely you will find all your answers. Also mat77303 was only trying to help and you should owe him an appolgy or add to his rep. It is uncommon for senior members to even respond questions that can be answered by following the tutorials on the xecuter website.

xbox uses *.wma files to play music. If you send files to your xbox in wma format to the correct location... it wont work. The Reason: In the folder where music is stored.. there is a small small file that tells your xbox where, and what your song is called. You cannot change this file manually. The only true possible way to send music to your xbox is by ripping a CD through Xbox dash. You can download the msdash on Xbins. FTP the xbox dash to your c drive. As for xbmc, you ftp it to E:\apps\ if you dont have a folder already there, then make one.

no, I am sorry matt. xbdash won't load anymore, the xb was dead before we modded it. it had that whole blinking thing going. now when we try to boot to msdash it just gives us a blank screen, so we really have no choice. there HAS to be a way to modify that file, using a hex editor or something. i mean, we can linux on the damn thing, you would think we could modify a little database easy enough.

and id don't want to play wma's in xbmc while playing games, if you remember, some games let you se your own music as the background music. thats more of what we were shooting for.

again, sorry matt.

I'm not sure what you mean by"ripping the disc in xbox dash" as the only way to play or store music on the xbox. Every song I have in wmp is also on my xbox and they were all transfered via flash fxp. I have had certain music files that would not transfer but most will.
