Although fitting LED's is easy, they can make a crystal XBOX look great. That's the best glowing Crystal XBOX I have seen. I like it.

Lol watch out for low flying aircraft - they may try to land on it!!!

Good job - I would have gone for replacement Blue LEDs like I have on mine ;)

I like it alot.

I really haven't seen alot of stuff that I think "Hey, I should take the time to do that..." but that is one mod I really would consider. If I would change anything it would be to try to get some deeper blue color LED's.... but the placement of them and the effect they give off is great!

Good job!!

Can you give a price list for the parts you used?

I don't know if it's the same prices in America but Maplin (UK), blue led's cost 10 times as much as green, red, or yellow ones.

wel l if you are interested on getting done something like this, you would need the following

5mm 5v LED's "i used 20"
couple of 260OHm resistors
solder iron
some solder
wires

the power sources that i sucke out the xbox are, controller ports, but you can find enough 5V points on the xbox board.

the best place to get some cheap LED's are from ebay, you can get 100 LED's of th type i used for about $20 inc shipping, so you might wanna give ebay a visit, but if you want to buy them in the shops, try radio shacks but beware they are EXPENSIVE.

oh yeah anyone living in the UK i have posted the box up for auction "getting my money together for the X360", so if you are interested then visit the link here for even more pics.

Worth more than £20 though, I would have put the price at £120 at least.

Yea Blue LEDS are about 10x a much here in the States too. I think it has to do with the frequency they have to developed at to produce the Blue.

But then again I am no engineer and could be talking out my A$$.:D

I think it has more to do with the filiment and the gas inside that makes the blue color...

What happens when the auction is over and someone buys it, are you just gonna die or something?

I think I prefer it the way he's done it, having the different colours in the middle helps break up the monotomy of having just a single colour. Adding contrast to a design I feel is important because it gives it more depth.. unless you're really going for the 'one big glowing blob' thing.
