so here it is my finished project
quick reason for doing this mod
i have a house full of people playing xbox's and the idea of having my console opened up all the time to hotswap was unappealing at best so my kids could also play a (single copy) of a game after 2 weeks of waiting running it over and over in my head how i would accomplish this without looking tackyi did some researcha nd met a guy named mike mansfeild and his company AIRFlow Cables LLC. i spoke with his tech's about the restrictions on lenght for signal integrity ect and ordered custom cable here my window mod with a completly external dvd drive with a plexi lid to open up and remove the game disc after it stops reading/spinning the dvd and (hotswap it out for my kids to play at the same time ) here it is guys i apologise in advance the only camera i have right now during this project was my ipod and depending on lighting it suck's (outside much better)

the comcept i drew up for the window cutout

going to use an hd-dvd drive enclosure for the xbox360's drive i think it will be good but will need heavy modification to work plus custom made dvd drive cable

custom made dvd cable thank to mike over @ http://www.xbox360airflow.us/

all sleeved up

basic layout

if im going to use the hd-dvd bezel i will nedd to file the drive tray front down some

there...done

getting rid of pre molded layout to start fresh and even base

always leave wiggle room

now i just need to bring the drive height down to size

almost perfect

not bad

by george i think weve got it!

make a window with hinges for plexi to access disc after it stop reading/spinning

primer base coat 1st

running wires to exit poing of console chassis

i know hot glue but i couldnt take a chance on cable being pulled/tugged loose from mobo

installed a clear fan shroud while i had her opened up

re-installing RED LED's array's

consoles finished minus the ports for faceplate still drying

there we go finished at last
