My external panel is "dead"

Hi all,

I've just boot my xbox (v1.6, X-ecuter3) and what's happening ??? Externel panel dont wanna lighting in blue (nothing appears)... So Im checking all I can but I can't find what's wrong with my X-3 externel panel !!!! Im very unlucky because yesterday I was playing and now I can't do a thing with my xbox !!!!!!!!! Firstly, chillout - 3posts in 15minutes will just annoy people!

Secondly, check all your connections - if your x3 boots into the config live and into your dash then it should be installed ok, which means the problem is with the external panel!

I had the same proble at first but it turns out I just hadn't plugged it in properly! Try searching the forum for other people who've had similar problems.
It's not TeamX's fault, they designed and tested the design of the product but they can't personally test every item that comes out of the factory.

Do what I suggested, then wait an hour or so before coming back to the thread, maybe some more people will have had time to read it by then! (Remember that many of the boards readers will be in the USA, so it's very early morning over there at the moment!)


Edit: I forgot to say that you should describe your problem in more detail. You say your external panel doesn't light up but you've not actually said whether you can boot to the config live, boot with the chip disabled, or boot to the flashbios! You have a 1.6? I'm not sure about this but I seem to remember something a about having to upgrade to the latest version of flashbios 3.03? or similar)...... Search and ye shall find!

Sorry for my english cause Im french and here it's not so early ;-)

For more détails: My x-box dont boot normaly because I dont have a config for x-box live my dash is on the c: partition (evox), so when I boot I have the error 13. However my X3 inside the x-box lighting up in blue ! Do you think that it can be due to a bad connection (solder) ???
I've check my solders and I think there's nothing wrong with them !

And sorry to TeamXecuter but Im very mad when I can't play.... :roll:

If your panel isn't working, it probably means that it isn't getting power, which can either be because of solder or one of the wires going from the modchip to the panel got pinched off. Check inside your xbox and make sure both of the blue lights are on.

Thanks shibz for your reply but I ever control the solders and wires but I only have a blue light inside the x-box (I think the external switch is over). Do you think that I must buy the X3 pro switch ???

There should be 2 blue LEDs on the X3, if one isn't going you have a power problem.

well, you need to take your xbox apart, start the xbox, and make sure that both lights are on inside. There are 2 blue lights on the xecuter3. If one of thoes isn't on, then it means you aren't getting full power to your modchip. If the switch panel was dead, your xbox would still work. The X3 boots onto banks 1-4 by default if the panel is disconnected.

The "Config Live" is the screen thatt appears by default after you flash an x3 bios to your chip

heh it was my sig, I just added the link to the ending of dodgeball to it and the stupid thing went over the character limit and it deleted the /quote tag.

thanks all but I need more help

First thanks all for your help, I've following your tips and there are only 1 blue led lighting (the 3,3v led doesn't lighting up) So I've tried to link the pin 9 & 15 to have another 3,3v source but it doesn't work too. Should I desolder all and resolder or is there another tips to have another 3,3v source ???
