GENERAL My first casemod

So I started on my first casemod a couple of days ago and this is what I got so far :

I will insert som led's later on but I'm not sure if I want normal single led's or a led strip.

I can buy LED's in my local electronic shop but LED strips I need to order online, so yeah I'm not sure.

Any of you recommend either solutions?

I'm also planning to add a 5x5cm fan over the heatsink(falcon mb) as a anti rrod

So what do you think?(or suggestions of what I can do)

your cuts look good how are you going to fit your fan?did you look at led fans? id think about led strips to as there a nice even light and a very clean install.are you going to do anything to the dvd drive cut window or paint or even get some carbon vinyl to stick on did you think about etching the plexi?? logo or gamer tag?where are you uk or usa if you are in the uk ive got some rolls of red or blue led strips i could cut off what you need and sell you cheap save you buyin a roll?

I want to cut the Dvd case but not sure what design yet.

Would it work to cut a square in the dvd case and add plexi? Then the laser would not get dirty..

I don't live in UK or US sorry...

yes you can use plexi to use in the dvd drive case there is a few ways but il post a pic or a link showing you .also you can use a 60mm fan to the front on the case it will fit fine if you are looking to mount above the heatsink you many have to keep a check of how thick the fan is you may need a slimline one

Are you sure about that?

Because I messured a couple of days ago and it was only 5,6cm from the heatsink to the casing. Falcon btw.

Would be nice if you posted a picture, haha

here is the plexi mod and i think you can just have a look 60mm that was the size of the last one i did but that was on my falcon with old style cpu heat sink and new style gpu heat sink .just drop the lid on when your marking up to help make sure you spot on .take your time and you will have no probs buddy

Anyway, it looks nice, but also very hard..

Is the top spindel that holds the dvd down mounted to the plexi glass?

I will definitely spray paint mine white

i used a wii fan and it fits very well on the newer style heat sink.(12v)

Well, I think I'm done now and this is what it looks like :

As you see I added a little controll mod since I had some paint left.

Btw, would spray painting the Dvd case white look good?

Looks really good, i think spray painting the dvd drive would look really cool. Even better under neons

Nope, it could have been RGH when I got it but I wanted to play live, so I updated the DB..
