My first paint job and DVD Window

Spare Xbox I have.

Used Krylon spray paint. Kept the regular jewel as I hate custom jewels. In the pic there was some excess paint that I later got off.

As for the DVD Window, I learned one thing to make it look good. SAND, SAND, SAND! Sanding it gave it a perfect shape, better than I thought it would.

In the future, I plan on doing some LED mods. Maybe in the controller ports, cathodes in the vents. Not sure yet.

What exactly do you mean by Sand? Sand what? What part? I'd like info on this because I plan to do a Window on a future XBOX of mine, and what did you use to make the window?

I made a tutorial for a DVD window. It is in "XBOX Customisations" and it's called "Tutorial: DVD Window".

Your DVD window looks good, but there's no point of having a DVD Window if you can't see the DVD, and if you do plan on cutting the metal from the DVD Drive so that you can see the DVD, you will need to glue some clear plastic in the window to stop dust getting in the DVD Drive and to make it look better.

The shape of your DVD window also means that you will see the DVD tray as well as the DVD, which isn't exactly great looking.

I don't like the green jewel much either, green is red's opposite colour, so they don't really look that good together. I know 'cos I've just finished an AVCE in Art.

If theres one thing i know about art (trust me, I only know 1 thing about art!!) it's that what looks good to one, may not look good to another... and vice versa. Personally I like the bright green next to that orangy/red colour.

i dont like the green and orange red at all. I cant tell which looks off because they both clash with each other and mathc the black. The mod looks very good though. Professional and flawless.

Very clean paint job and window, but whats the point of the window if all you can see is the warning label on the DVD Drive, maybe cut a window in the Drive or remove the metal casing, I elect cut a tray cause removing the casing caused some problems for me a while back, even though i had a clear spindle for the spindle .

wow..may i ask why u put a window if you can only see the warning stickers....????????????????????????????????????????????????

First off, excuse me for bumping an old topic, hehe.

I cut a Window in the DVD-Rom drive, as planned. I'll post more pictures later.

Or like mine, black jewel. Or clear it, and put some limo tint on it.
