This mornings event .....did the 5V mod and connected everything to laptop.

Don't know what happened but all of a sudden before I had a chance to test to read the laptop says "to much power on usb port"

Now when I plug in my Xbox power brick it turns from yellow led to a red right away.

Final thing I can do is to sell it as spare parts ??

when your power brick turns red it means that you have a short somewhere and the power brick is trying to protect the xbox. your xbox is fine for now. you have to either find the short or disconnect the 5v. personally i say get rid of the QSB. they are a hassle. by looking at the photos you have very good soldering skills. i suggest soldering the nandx wires back to the nand. and then use cooshrimps jtag tool. the reason your getting arm read error when trying to read because you dont have the drivers in the proper directory. when you first start up jtag toold go toadvance mode then to settings tab. go ahead and hit that iinstall nand x drivers and then install port 94. that should fix your problem. remember "DO NOT TURN ON YOUR XBOX 360 WHEN THE NANDX IS PLUGGED IN YU CAN TRULY BURN OUT YOUR NAND AND NANDX. JUST PLUG THE POWER UNIT TO THE XBOX BUT DO NOT TURN IT ON. YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO READ AND WRITE TO IT NO PROBLEM

You did not have power brick connected when attempting to read nand with 5v mod, did you?

Desolder QSB's I'm sure you have a short there.

Do a direct wire for reading nand instead.

I believe your console can still be saved:D

I did remove the QSB and feel the same way you do that they are a little bit of a hassle.
Drivers installed like you say, but cant find any short.
The only thing that I can think of is the first problem is still there.

When I solder I use this: http://www.voelkner.de/products/206608/Loetwasser-Nr.1v-50ml.html
The problem with it is if I got some of it under the nand chip and fried the nand chip. :(

Using the 5V mod the laptop shuts down the power right away, and the same way if I only use the power brick.
I have tried to wash the nand chip with alcohol but still no success

Now its getting difficult:frown:

Maybe board needs to be dried up and freed from any flux and alcohol.

Use a heatgun and set it to approx 350 degrees. Heat the board all over but be sure to protect electrolyte capacitors.

A good idea is to remove heatsinks, maybe something has creeped under and shorting cpu/gpu.

Thats the only thing I can think off to help:rolleyes2:

I have now removed the hole nand-x and coolrunner. Tried to really clean it with some more alcohol and and dried it with a hairdryer.

Still no success...as soon as I plug in the power it turns red =(

Check for blown electrolyte capacitors. See if one of them is leaking or appears bloated (thick)

I have ordered a new jasper elite to hopefully continue this RGH on.

Will check for capacitors, but I feel really bad on the nand part. Any experience on a shorted out nand making the psu go red ?

Might have found a problem, the C2E6 that I soldered the 5V mod to seem to be shorten out.

Measuring it on both sides it has direct connection to chassis, and it has 0 ohms thru both directions.

That could be it. There is standby power in that capacitor when power supply is plugged in.
