I`ve got som problems with my hitachi drive.

The tray won`t come out. It`s not stuck, it`s just not reacting when I press the eject-button.

It reacts sometimes when I use JF, when I press OPEN or CLOSE in the program, and it seems like JF have problems finding the drive (G:)

When it`s connected to the xbox, it doesn`t spin the dvd`s eighter..

It seems like it`s a electrical problem.?

Can someone help me?

could be a magnet issue - or the elastic band that runs the tray
what led to this error?
does it not spin ANY discs up at all?
have u opened the drive and cleaned it all down?

It worked fine before I tried to flash to the newest firmware, I had some problems with my kit, and I didn`t start flashing. When I connected it back to the xbox, it woudn`t react, or spinn AT ALL..

I`ve opened it up, and cleaned. The motor spins nicely when I spin it.

aaaahhhh - by any chance did u have a problem during the flash?
i.e. it erased the fw but didn't write it correctly?

Yeah I had problems during my attempt to flash :) but if it erased anything, I honestly don`t know/remember.
Could it be fixed if I get to flash it back to stock, or to flash it to 2.0?

ok - that's why your drive isn't responding - the fw is blank.....
did u save the dummy.bin?
if so - go ahead and load this as source - load up lt2.0 as target - spoof source to target, and reflash your drive

I did save the orginale FW the first time I flashed my drive, but didn`t call it dummy.bin.. HIT-OFW or something like that.
I`ll try to load that one as source, and flash with 2.0.

But why does JF have problemes detecting my drive as G:?

I can update this by sayin that it does spin when I have it connected to my computer, but not when I connect it to my xbox 360.

I have the exact same issue with my hitachi 47. Did you ever get it to work? I put in my other DVD drive in the xbox and it works just fine. I've tried flashing it numerous times with the same result.

Thanks.

I have exactly the same problem also... I've managed to get it reading in the xbox if I force eject the dvd tray. If I do a force eject with the xbox off, and put the disk in, then turn it on, the box will close the tray and read the disk fine. However, if the xbox is turned on with the tray in, I am unable to open the tray... Any ideas on best way to treat this? Took tray apart, and all appears to be working fine with the tray mechanism and everything. Reading is fine, etc etc... Cheers BTW, this is on a 79FL drive...
