I have seen the parts list of the X3 on this page http://www.teamxecuter.com/x3/tutorials/x3pin16.htm

But My parts do not all match  , What I think is the alt 5v wire does not look like the one on that page, and I am afraid to hook something up wrong. Even the chip board is different, no switch, and it is white instead of purple, also a couple other cosmetic changes. I just bought this kit a week ago, now I am stuck 1/2 thru the install because I am afraid i will hook up something wrong. Question is: Is there a page explaining the changes, and different parts that I have received? :(

You have the new X3CE see the front page, nothing has changed on this chip except for a clear concise layout. Installation is the exact same way as the purple X3 and everything only plugs onto the chip in one way. The alt 5v wire has a red plug and plugs into the corresponding red plug on the chip.

Thanks for the info, I thought that red wire was for the alt 5v, but not everything that is obvious always is, and I have read that people have fried their chips, and I did not want to add to that list. One more Quick Question, What about the slide switch that the purple had and mine doesn't, Was something downgraded with the new design? Thanks for Your time!

The flash protect switch has been moved to the top right hand corner of the chip.

You will also have an LED status indicator for the switch setting as seen here:

All in all nothing has been “downgraded”, in fact this new design is one hell of an upgrade with no additional cost to you.

Thanks

I guess the new design is better, I have looked around and did not find out much about the new design. I do see what You have mentioned and it does appear to be a better layout. Thanks again for pointing it out and helping me. That switch is deceiving though, only by the way it blends in with the new design. If You did not point it out I probably would have not seen it at all, it is not as obvious as the earlier model. Thanks again for all the help, and have a Great day! :)
