I'm not sure if it's totally complete, but I'm trying to stop here. Some pics of my newly modded portable Xbox.

This thing runs on 12v car outlet or 110 AC wall outlet. 2 logitech controller receivers are built into the panel under the XLCD. The screen is a 13.5" LCD. Linksys wireless G game adapter, to connect to a router or one of my other Xboxes for System Link. Clear case. Dremmeled windows in DVD drive. Billet aluminum jewel.

Included all the mods found in my sig.

The Logitech controllers are pretty small so they will fit in the area in front of the DVD drive, but I don't really put them in there, so they won't scratch the LCD screen when I close the briefcase lid and carry the case around. As for now, I carry them around in a small nylon bag, along with the 110ac 12dc power cords.

Cool. What about trying to mount a small piece of removable plexiglass or something for the LCD? Just a thought.

Yeah, I thought about that, or a piece of thin foam.

Thanks.

At least I used a clear case, so if it did get searched in an airport they'd be able to look at the internals and see that it's not a bomb. I'd flip my wig if it got confiscated!:mad:

On the way back through the airport, it would suck to see airport security playing my Xbox behind their desk.

It's a 1.6 Xbox, so the temps that the dash displays can't be trusted. They jump all over the place. Those temps are nowhere near the actual temp. I have made a lot of cooling mods, and it does a good job of getting the heat out. I've checked the actual temps with a Raytek heat gun, and it runs as cool as a stock Xbox.

I have 3 xboxes, so I figured I'd make one of them portable, because I work shift-work at a steel mill, and midnights can be slow sometimes. This portable Xbox makes work a lot more enjoyable for me and the other guys I work with. Plus I can take it up to my crane cab and play it if I don't feel like sharing with the other guys. My brother has taken it to college a few times too. It gets a nice crowd of viewers in-between classes.

I got the screen off of Ebay. It's actually made for 12v car applications. I'm thinking of making another one of these, but using a 15" LCD. That would be Sweet!!!

I've got about $1100 in it all, but about $450 of that is in the modded Xbox. Then the LCD display screen is kinda expensive too. I could've made it a lot cheaper but what's the fun of that? Go big or stay home. :D

BTW, I can also hook these up to it, and not use the LCD screen, or use both of them at the same time. They give a much bigger view! They're really immersive! In fact it makes some guys a little woozy. http://www.i-glassesstore.com/
