ok so i have a dell gx520 that only has 1 sata port on the mother board.
i remove this connection tot he mother board, set cd to boot first, and connecte the 78FK to this port on the mobo.
turn them both on at the same time and i get the drive in to mode b with no fuss.
as i only have 1 sata port on the dell mobo i cant boot that pc in to windows and have the xbox drive connected at the same time.
so now as the drive is in mode b i got out my usb > sata adapter and plugged it in to my laptop.
hey presto! i have my 78FK drive in my computer and i can play dvd's on my laptop from the drive.
i open up toolbox 3.0 on my laptop hit the raw dump firmware as, and it just freezes and dont unlock.
i have a pci sata card in the post on its way to me with the vt6421A chipset, i will try again when i get this and put it in to a PC
after searching i see that a few people have had this problem. many have tried diffeent cards, even PCs(not using the usb method i did)
what is the chances that my drive just isnt going to allow the toolbox 3 software to read or write to it, or will the USB not work for this drive what so ever?
