My switch updated to 6.2 while in airplane mode

I only use my switch while traveling for work. I keep it in airplane mode all the time. It was running 6.1, when I got to the hotel and took it out to play, it wouldn't load SX os. I finally got it to boot to SFW, and it was till in airplane mode, but now running 6.2. No games inserted, nothing. WTF

It's possible that the update was pending and it some how automatically installed, but I don't think it does that. Usually, if you have turned off auto update it will prompt you if you have a pending update. Sorry man. Don't really have a better answer. There are other options until SX is updated or you can try using emunand with 6.1, but you will lose the sleep function.

My switch has been on airplane mode for weeks. The same thing happened to me. I docked it one day, the screen went white, saying updating system. Now I’m stuck in OFW and can’t use any sx os features. Sneaky sh*t, I don’t know how this happened. I had auto updates off, and was in stealth mode, and airplane mode. Wtf!

Airplane mode is not the same as "Turn the internet off".

In the dock, if you have a network cable attached.... it's going to use it.

this is where blocking nintendo servers in dns settings is a good thing to do.
