Hello,

I purchased a Crystal Edition x-box that is a 1.6b according to the info I gathered (hynix ram). I modded it and it only works with Flasbios 3.0.1.

The chips I purchased came with 3.0.0 installed which did not work with it. I went and purchased another used x-box, modded it with another chip and put 3.0.3 on it. 3.0.3 also did not work with my crystal 1.6b.

By chance, I tried 3.0.1 and it works fine. So either this is not really a 1.6b or there is something different about it from other 1.6b's.

So my advice is to make sure you try 3.0.3 and 3.0.1 on these boxes even if you think its a 1.6b.

I never mentioned the first x-box i tried to mod and I trashed :( It's been a long week. I purchased 3 chips and it looks like one of them does not work (probably something i did but it may have shipped that way)

Happy modding

PLease ignore my previous post - or at least most of it! It semms that I had my sitches set incorrectly. It will boot under 3.03 or 3.01 just not 3.00

Re: Reflashing/Upgrading modded hitachi 78 drive

the jungleflasher tutorial explains all

basically, you reflash to stock, then flash with the newest firmware

jungleflasher makes the process very easy
