Hey guys so today, I took my old 360 out bought a new laser and rubber band. I installed it and decided hey i always wanted to put a fan directly over the heat sinks so i did, I had a 120mm cooler master red LED fan, and sodered it to the 12v source under the board below the power supply connector. then cut the hole and screwed it on. It now works like new and is my brothers now.

I have a 250gb Slim, I bought it new 2ish years ago and I now need to take it apart and do some dust clearing, while im in there i would like to know if there is anything i should do? and is there a way to help keep it cooler so it last for a long time.

Thanks.

If your game enough I'd put ac 5 silver paste.that and your dusting should keep it pretty cool.

So today i took apart my Slim and to my surprise 2ish years of dust was not bad at all, i blew it all out. then on the fan i pull the blue wire out and now it spins faster. i currently am looking into getting a colored 92x92mm fan that is quite and has high flow, but what im wondering is how much juice the xbox connecter is throwing out?

one thing i learned from a mate of mine who modded his 360 slim is the a fan that has a slower flow moves more are then a fan that has a higher faster rate of flow,as the slower flow rate allows the fan to pull more heat away from the xbox or you could try a usb fan mod

The xbox connector sends 5-12v, it matters on the xbox's temp. but most of the time it is 5v. U can always check with a multi meter to double check

I suggest finding 12v points and using those if u are upgrading the fan, u can find many charts on google indicating the 12v points
