Hi,

I bought my XBOX 360 S 4GB in March 2012 so it just ran out of warranty. From what I see on the board (hana chip) i seems to be a trinity model.

The box did not run much as it was used mainly for Kinect and therefore can be considered dustfree as I could see after opening it and the power brick.

Unfortunalty after the ms update 2 days ago and me scheduling 2-3 demos to download leaving the box sit there until it went to stand-by I am not able to turn it on anymore.

Pressing power or eject only gives me the correstponding beeps and the power brick stays on orange.

I opened the box and brick to check for obvious problems but did not find any. I also tried to reseat what can be reseated without luck.

Does anybody know about this problem and has some tips what to check further?

Thanks

Unfortunatly I don't have one at hand but what I measured from the brick so far and what I observe and read about the console behaviour itself it seems to be pointing to the console.

A dead 4GB MU can cause this. I would probably convert it to a 16MB console and see what happens.

he states its a trinity as he see's a hana :p unplug the 4gb MU they do get corrupt sometimes if that dont work search for a pic of the vregs (voltage regulators) they are usually suspect ..

I unplugged the thing that looks like would pops up if a do a picture search on google for (xbox 360 4gb module).

Still I can play nice beeping noises with power and eject but the fan/console will not come on. I tried to power it while also the CD, HDD, Wlan, is not attached or do I have to put all of this back first?

I also found a good guide with stand-by voltages and will check them now.

Hi,

although I cancelled the oder together with the hotline the replacement power brick arrived today.

So I used it for a quick check but it did not change the situation. It seems to be down to the XBOX now.

As checking the voltages did not lead to a clue yet and the problem came up after a very hot day I believe we are dealing with a Hana or GPU problem as I read about heating and solder connection problems going along with cooling inefficiencies.

Even me opening the box carefully due to the brocken seals I don't believe that MS will still carry out an out of warranty repair.

How long a repair would last is to be questionable anyway.

So I'm making my mind up of buying a new XBOX to get 2 years of warranty again. I always like the slim especially the 4GB as it is mat.

But currently there seems to be a new model in xbox one design. Is it preffered to buy this one as better cooled, energy efficient etc?

Are there already any experienced in favour of the new model?

Thanks
