Could someone please help me. My XBOX has been modded for about 1 month. I have the Xecuter 3 chip installed and I have put in an 80 gig hard drive. Everything was working fine untill last night. I recently installed Surreal 64 to play Nintendo 64 Roms. I installed a couple and they worked fine. Last night I copied a few more to the drive, and then I tried to run one of the new roms. When I was doing this my XBOX hung up on me, so I powered it off and back on. When it came back on the light which should be green on the XBOX is now flashing RED. I put the original drive back in to see if that would solve the problem but it still comes up with no video or audio an a RED flashing light. I can get into the part where I can flash my mod chip by holding power and eject at the same time. If someone could help me that would be great.

Thanks very much.

the all red flashing is a bad eeprom and the reason flashbios works is because its based on cromwell so does not need a working eeprom

the x3 bios should still boot with a bad eeprom if you made a backup using x3 live if not use xbtool to embed a eeprom into a x2 bios and flash that

i used my smartxx that boots without a working eeprom to fix this problem that i also had

So now I have an Hitachi drive

My second Xbox broke and I got the third one now. (10 dollars, self-repaired :))

Anyway, my last one was a Samsung which played the new waves well...I burned a copy of AC: Brotherhood which worked fine. However, is that different now with an Hitachi? Is there something special I have to do right after I flash it, like the Lite-On and the BenQ have it?

Re: So now I have an Hitachi drive

How do you know if it's a 78/9 drive? It says on the Rom ver: 0078FK, does that mean it's a 78? If so do I have to re-burn the game after I run it through abgx or can I do it through the disc? What's this 3 minute logging that you have to do that is noted on the homepage I'm kinda confused about that.

Btw, if I have to reburn it, I can just rip as an ISO, run it through abgx and burn it again right?
