You'll need a replacement PCB. That's it. You could of course try the Kamikaze....

Try the Kamikaze first cause it's pretty much free to try, if your slow, careful and use the below guides you should be ok.

If you fail you can always order the replacement PCB, just keep in mind you will be without a drive while you wait for delivery of a replacement PCB.

If you're attempting the kamikaze, my only advice is to disconnect the PCB from the drive. So unplug the ribbon cables and desolder the wires.

Okay thanks, i was considering the update needed when microsoft update it , etc , What about Jtag? what will i need?

Because you're drilling/cutting into a main IC which has ties into all attached components. If you mess up the kamikaze, it's easy to short a few lines and kill something else in the process. I had a failed kamikaze come my way where they had killed the laser too.

JTAG you need a dash version up to Version 2.0.7371.0

RGH you need a dash version up to Version 2.0.14719.0

Since you have a Slim model there is no chance to JTAG cause your Dash is most certainly above the required maximum.

For a RGH you will need the following in this order IF you meet the dashboard requirement.

1. Skills
2. Torx 8 and 10 Screwdrivers
3. A good soldering Iron and 1mm Solder
4. A Nand X
5. A Coolrunner

The NandX and Coolrunner should come with all the required cables, but you should make sure by buying one of those package deals.
