Yea, I agree, the cold cathode lights make a even glow around the jewel while the LED's don't make a even glow around the jewel.

right, i couldn't find any way to modify my last post, but by "halo lights" you simply mean lights formed like a halo? because if that's it, i feel dumb asking =)
