I think you have a early xbox with an s style power connector. The friction fit is rather tight, so I would grasp firmly on all the wires and pull up firmly. You can angle away slightly from the plastic s side, but don't go too much as you stand a chance of breaking the s connector or bending the pins. I do not think there is a locking latch on this style connector, so a firm tug should do it.

Mine required a bit of force when i took my black xbox apart to fit an *ugh* xenium ice solderless (which wouldn't stay in the lpcs hence it's in it's box and the xbox is used for live)

Try not to pull on the wires that could lead to problems, get a pair of needle nose pliers and grab the connector with it, as long as your careful it will come away, be sure not to distort the shape of the board and you should be fine.

Ba i got pretty much pissed off and just took all my brute force on the plastic and it finally came out. I then saw it was clasped with some locking latch like you said. And this is 1.0 Xbox.

Thanks for the help

kinda tilt it away from the plastic side and pull hard. i have a 1.0 and i used a butter knife to get mine out just pry on the side with the connector on the board. good luck!

I have 1.0....all I did was grab the wires near the plastic base and rock it back and forth gently before I unscrewed the board and it came out with a bit of a tug.
