I set up the X3 chip, got to the flash bios screen, and flashed the chip with the x3_1959.bin bios and a 100 MB dummy file. It completly installed, and then went to the black screen. I've reseated pins 1,13,14 and still nothing.
The xbox boots, goes to red then green, shuts down. Boot, red-->green, shutdown, FRAG.
I've pushed all of the external pins to the off position (left), hit eject and power, and the tray led goes blinking green, then completely amber. And still the black screen.
Should I have flashed X3_1959_v16plus.bin instead? How can i get the right bios on there?
Can someone please help me figure this out? i'm onto 7 hours and quickly losing my sanity.
Thanks in advance.

if you don't know go to xbox-scene.com and they have a good tut on finding out.

what were the dip switches set to.?

can you boot to the backup flashbios?

we really need some more info if you want us to help.

version is 1.4 or 1.5.
the external switches were set to:
1 x
2 x
3x
4x
5x

And I'm not sure that I know how t get into the backup bios. When I did the eject+power, it flashed green, and then went to solid amber after about 30 seconds.

Can you tell me how to boot into the backup bios so that I DON'T have a black screen, and so that I can reflash the box, if necessary?

I would just like to get the chip flashed so I can go on with my life. :?

ok you don't need the x3_1959_16plus.bin, you have the right bios for your xbox version.

to get to the backup flashbios press and hold the pwr and eject buttons till you get the flashbios screen.

your switches seem to be correct if i am seeing them right.

on on off off off set for banks 1-4

or you can try

off on off off off set for banks 5-8

Okay, but the problem is that even if I use the backup flash bios, i still don't see anything, the screen is still blank. Do I use these switches, in conunction with the following swtich positions?

1X
2X
3X
4X
5X

But again, I don't get anything but a black screen...it flashes green, and then solid amber...

Any suggestions?
