Get a reading from the damaged side of C3B8 to C3B9.
If it goes to zero it should be okay

it's writing! awsome! now to see if RRoD has gone.. or is there more to do before i hook it to the tv?

Should be okay. It beeps because there is a connection. It should go to zero if you connect test leads to same side of the 2 caps
thanks good 2 know! :D

Not really i guess. All your trouble comes from bad header pins connection. Credit to MARTIN C for spotting wrong FlashConfig.

But what about your original nand. Hope thats ok!

so heres the thing, during read back after the successful write i noticed the fans started spinning!! and at the same time i started getting errors in nandpro...

wierd thing is only thing i had connected at that time was nand-x and the fans, no RF-module, not even the wind-tunnel was in it's place! earlier i've been dumping/writing without fans connected. perhaps the reason i get errors is because the xbox is actually running?

Sounds crazy! Wouldn't you have noticed the heatsinks getting burning hot then.

that's pretty weird yeah. you got the rf module in place when doing this?
if so, do it without it.

greetings

Hope you have good original nand. As I understand you have read it with bad pin header connection, so you may not have a good nand!

so ive got the flash config... and i can write and erase the nand but it errors if i read it..

reads the first 10 or 20 blocks fine then error 600 reading block xxx...

this is still with the 5volt mod. since the xbox turns on if i use the psu..

If needed, you can build a good NAND as long as your decrypted keyvault and config can be extracted from the original.
if i ever get it up and running again that is.. is it possible to check if my KV and config is good? without cpu key?

I think you should stop. You have a short somewhere if the console is turning itself on. It's also the reason why you're getting errors.

You might be better to flash an ecc to it and then do the full reflash with your good nand via Xell and rawflash.

If you are reading with your original nand and getting these errors then I think your original nand is corrupt. And it does make sense that it is!

I beleive you can download a clean nand from JTAG TOOL, and then try to build a GOOD nand as MARTIN C points out

Then you do have a short. Try this: plug in power supply. Get a voltage reading on that damaged capacitor, it should give you 5v. If not then replace it.
