NAND pin headers

I wasn't able to find anything about this.

I have the Nand-X and installed it (pin headers) in my xbox. Now I have another, JTAG'd already. Can I go to radio shack or something to make my own NAND pin headers?

If so, can someone let me know what I should be looking for?

Thanks,

Are you trying to modify an existing Jtag or update it? You can use flash360 tool for that.

Existing JTAG, but the NAND headers / wires were removed before I got my hands on it.
Only the JTAG wires are currently installed.

It has XBR3. I'm planning to install latest Freeboot.

I would buy official pn headers, but I wanted to work on it this weekend and didn't want to pay high shipping for a $2.99 item.

I'm not sure about XBR as I always use freeboot first hand, but if flash360 which is a homebrew application runs on XBR then you probably don't need to physically flash the NAND.

flash360 tool reads and writes to consoles that are already jtag'ed. I know it works on freeboot but don't know about XBR. In theory, if it does and you have an existing dump of the original NAND then all you need to do is obtain the CPU key, compile freeboot and then flash it from a USB drive/stick via flash360 tool.

Try booting the console by pressing the eject button to see if this will load xell and display your fuse set which you need to find your CPU key.

Problem is that I don't have an original NAND dump.

So unless I'm mistaken, I am needing to dump my XBR NAND with Flash360, then using Freeboot Toolbox create my Freeboot NAND. Then I can flash my new NAND with Flash360.

Actually, if I can choose where to save the XBR NAND dump, then I should be able to copy it to a usb drive or FTP it over to my computer for use with Freeboot NAND.

Then I should be able to flash with flash360?

Can I choose where to save my NAND dump in Flash360? (or find the location where the dump is located)

Does he rest of this sound like it should work?

This is what I have been trying to say, flash360 will dump your existing working nand/XBR to the root dir of the usb flash drive you run it from. Then you can easily transfer that onto the PC. Just get flash360, place it into USB stick and run it. It's self explantary and you'll see what it's capable of. You got the CPU key yet?

Thanks my friend!!

XBOX now successfully running latest freeboot.
It was remarkably easy. Flash360 is fantastic! I just didn't realize that once the NAND was flashed that the NAND headers / wire connections were no longer needed to flash it.

Thanks again!

Glad you got it working. As you said it was remarkably easy and fast as well, 10 seconds or so to read or write a 16mb NAND.
